Dancing Circles

In dieser Arbeit, die in den Bäumen hängt, möchte ich die Menschen auf die kleinen Dinge in der Natur aufmerksam machen: So kleine Details wie die Ringe, die bei Regen auf der Oberfläche des Wassers entstehen, oder die dicken Luftblasen, die durch tauchende Schildkröten und springende Fische entstehen. Ich habe den Ringen die Farbe des Himmels gegeben, um der Arbeit die Leichtigkeit und Luftigkeit des Äthers zu geben. Alle diese Elemente bewegen sich am Rande unserer Wahrnehmung.

With this work I hope to provoke people to consider nature’s details. Details as small as a single drop of water or perhaps a bursting bubble of air on the surface of a lake.

“Dancing Circles” is inspired by raindrops that fall from the sky to make concentric ripples upon the surface of the lake. And also by the rings caused when a fish jumps or a bubble of air from a diving turtle breaks the surface. I chose the sky blue color to give the piece an etherial quality like air around us. These are all elements that sit temporarily near the limits of our perception.
